10 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Route
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is a popular trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal that offers stunning mountain views and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the Himalayan region. The trek usually takes around 7 to 12 days, depending on your pace and itinerary. Here’s a sample 10-day itinerary for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara
- Take a scenic drive or a short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a picturesque lakeside city that serves as the starting point for the trek.
- Explore Pokhara and make any necessary preparations for the trek.
Day 2: Pokhara to Nayapul, then to Tikhedhunga
- Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (around 1.5 to 2 hours).
- Start trekking from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga (1,577m) through small villages and terraced fields.
Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
- Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,850m), passing through beautiful rhododendron forests and enjoying mountain views along the way.
Day 4: Ghorepani to Tadapani
- Early morning hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m) for a breathtaking sunrise view over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
- Trek to Tadapani (2,630m) through dense forests.
Day 5: Tadapani to Chhomrong
- Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170m), descending through lush forests and terraced fields.
Day 6: Chhomrong to Bamboo
- Descend to Chhomrong Khola and then ascend to Sinuwa.
- Continue trekking to Bamboo (2,310m), passing through rhododendron and bamboo forests.
Day 7: Bamboo to Deurali
- Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3,230m), ascending through dense forests with occasional glimpses of the mountains.
Day 8: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
- Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), passing through Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m).
- Reach ABC and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 9: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
- Witness the sunrise over the mountains from ABC.
- Descend back to Bamboo, retracing your steps.
Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda, then to Nayapul, and back to Pokhara
- Trek down to Jhinu Danda (1,780m), where you can relax in natural hot springs.
- Continue trekking to Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara.
