Completing our first main highlights of the adventure, from here on towards our major goal and target climb to the summit of stunning Island peak, as the walk takes you down at Imjatse valley to reach on the base of Island Peak. Island Peak Climbing grade is PD + which means ‘Per Difficult with plus that is climbing on ice and snow, with some rocky slopes and facing technical difficulty in few sections, but more or less a straight forward climb to reach on the summit top. The climbing grade comes from the French and Swiss Alpine Classification System, as used world-wide on the alpine-style climb. Before the climb to the summit of Island Peak with time for preparation and practice getting familiar with climbing equipment.
During climb overnights in tented camps for a few nights minimum of two nights or as per the standard itinerary with rest and contingency reserve days, depending upon the weather make for the big day to the summit of Island Peak. On reaching the top enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Lhotse Shar, and Amadablam at close distance with Mt. Makalu in the east direction.
From the summit top, descend safely towards base camp and continue to walk past the last settlement of Chukung and Dingboche to reach back into Lukla, for an exciting scenic flight to Kathmandu.
