3 Days Short Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

A 3-day Poon Hill trek is a shorter version of the popular Annapurna Poon Hill trek in Nepal. While the standard trek usually takes around 4–5 days, a shorter 3-day trek allows you to experience the highlights of the area with limited time. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an evergreen and ideal destination in the Annapurna of Nepal. Besides you can extremely soak into diverse nature and culture within a short duration. Here’s a suggested itinerary for a 3-day Poon Hill trek.

Outline Itinerary of 3 Days Ghorepani Sunrise Trek

Day 1: Nayapul to Tikhedhunga

  • Start your trek from Nayapul, which is accessible by road from Pokhara.
  • Trek through beautiful villages, terraced fields, and forests.
  • Reach Tikhedhunga and spend the night there.

Day 2: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

  • Begin the day with a steep climb up the stone staircase known as Ulleri.
  • Continue trekking through forests of rhododendron and oak trees.
  • Reach Ghorepani, a popular stopover point for trekkers.
  • Spend the night in Ghorepani.

Day 3: Ghorepani to Poon Hill and return to Nayapul

  • Wake up early before dawn and hike up to Poon Hill (3,210 meters) to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.
  • Enjoy the panoramic views and take photographs.
  • Descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast.
  • Trek back down to Nayapul and conclude your trek.

Please note that this is a condensed version of the trek, and you’ll be covering significant distances each day. It requires a good level of fitness and stamina to complete the trek in 3 days. Ensure that you’re well-prepared with appropriate gear, clothing, and a reasonable level of acclimatization to the altitude.
