The women in the community wear “lungi” like frock and “cholo” in a different color. They also wear various kinds of attractive ornament on their head called “Sirbindi” and “Fuli” on the nose. Round flat earring is worn on the ear and some women cover their heads with the help of a small scarf. Man in the past used to wear “Kachhad” but due to modernization, only a few old men wear the Kachhad. Traditional dresses of Gurung are quite similar to other tribes like Tamang and Magar but differ in their design.

The major festival of the Gurung people is “Tamu Lhosar” whereas they also go to “Rodi Ghar” to sing a song. Other tribes like Tamang and Magar also residences here and they also celebrate their own festival. local people make their survival with the occupation like agriculture and animal husbandry. Many Gurung and Magar men work as soldiers and they also have great prestige in society due to their brave and peculiar profession. Trade and tourism are the new sources of employment for these people.
