Everest Base Camp Trekking Permit and guide are necessary and very important for an enjoyable and scenic walk around the high Khumbu and Everest region. The Everest region trekking permit provides by the Sagarmatha national park and its local at Manjo Solukhumbu district of Nepal. Each permit fee is US$25 except for the SAARC Countries. In the early days just the past few years where TIMS (Trekking Information Management System) card was introduced by TAAN (Trekking Agent Association of Nepal) in all trekking regions of Nepal Himalaya. At present for the last two-three years where Khumbu village community collects the fees from all trekkers and adventurers, instead of TAAN permits.

The Everest Base Camp Trekking Permit fees either collected by TAAN or by local village communities where entry and exit records will be registered if some trekkers overstay from the date issued for certain times or one can get lost (especially the FIT Free Individual travelers). The entry point with a record of each trekker’s registration will help to trace the missing person from the date of entry and with passport and other details from the permit that is registered on entry points. Besides permits and fees for Everest base camp, where trekkers need to obtain park entry ticket at Sagarmatha National Park entry point near Monjo village on halfway route to Namche Bazaar.

Sagarmatha a name for Everest in Nepal while Sherpa calls Chomolungma of Tibetan origin language, the park was designated as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Everest base camp trekking or other regions of Khumbu Himalaya like Gokyo valley, Short Everest Panorama trek to Tengboche, or Everest Three High Passes.

Any other adventure walks around Nepal Himalaya including the Everest region where all trekkers must obtain trekking and national park permits with a certain amount of fees. Besides trekking, the same rules for peak climb and major mountaineering expedition, the only things for trekking peaks and other high mountains do need trekking permits.
