The Upper Mustang Trek is a popular trekking route in the Mustang region of Nepal. This trek offers a unique opportunity to explore the remote region of Mustang, which was once an independent kingdom and still retains its traditional Tibetan culture and lifestyle. Here is a sample itinerary for an Upper Mustang Trek:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, and check into your hotel. Spend the day exploring the city and preparing for the trek.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara Take a morning flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which takes about 30 minutes. After arriving in Pokhara, check into your hotel and explore the city.

Day 3: Pokhara to Jomsom (2,700m) to Kagbeni (2,800m) Take an early morning flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, which takes about 20 minutes. After arriving in Jomsom, start your trek to Kagbeni, a small town at the entrance of the Upper Mustang region.

Day 4: Kagbeni to Chele (3,050m) The trail on this day goes through the Kali Gandaki River valley and several small villages before reaching Chele, a small settlement with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 5: Chele to Syanbochen (3,475m) The trek on this day is quite steep and goes through several high passes and small settlements before reaching Syanbochen, a village with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 6: Syanbochen to Ghaymi (3,520m) The trail goes through a dense forest and several small streams before reaching Ghaymi, a small settlement surrounded by lush forests and fields.

Day 7: Ghaymi to Charang (3,560m) The trek on this day goes through several small villages and barren landscapes before reaching Charang, a small settlement with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 8: Charang to Lo Manthang (3,840m) The trail goes through several high passes and barren landscapes before reaching Lo Manthang, the capital of the Upper Mustang region. You can explore the local monasteries and visit the palace of the former king of Mustang.

Day 9–10: Exploration day in Lo Manthang Spend two days exploring the local monasteries, villages, and the palace of the former king of Mustang. You can also interact with the local people and learn about their culture and lifestyle.

Day 11: Lo Manthang to Drakmar (3,810m) The trek back to Drakmar takes about 7–8 hours and goes through several small settlements and barren landscapes.

Day 12: Drakmar to Ghiling (3,806m) The trail on this day goes through several high passes and small settlements before reaching Ghiling, a small settlement surrounded by lush forests and fields.

Day 13: Ghiling to Chhuksang (2,980m) The trek back to Chhuksang takes about 6–7 hours and goes through several small settlements and the Kali Gandaki River valley.

Day 14: Chhuksang to Jomsom (2,700m) The final day of the trek involves a short hike to Jomsom, where you can catch a flight back to Pokhara.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu Take a morning flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu and spend the rest of the day exploring the city or shopping for souvenirs.
